The Caffè Diemme Academy project, carried out in 2018 by the Gherardi Architetti studio in Castelfranco Veneto, was driven by a clear vision: “to provide all members of the Diemme community with a beautiful and welcoming space for training and collaboration—an intimate setting that also fosters communication between different areas”. The headquarters of this historic coffee roasting company now houses a new learning space where efficiency and quality of life merge with a captivating contemporary design. Its transparent and inviting aesthetic immediately captures attention, embodying a concept set to be replicated across Caffè Diemme branches worldwide. The dividing elements, such as walls and doors, turn into connecting features that unify spaces with distinct but complementary functions, from the Roastery & Research room to the Brewing room, and areas dedicated to tasting and study. ADL systems played a pivotal role in shaping the Academy’s interior, creating a cohesive, flowing environment that feels both expansive and warm, resulting in a unique, inviting space. To achieve seamless synergy, the different workspaces required thoughtful integration—a challenge met by the wide ADL product range and its versatile solutions. In the training area, the Mies system, paired with the Mitica door, enabled the creation of a transparent continuous glass wall that ensured optimal light flow while providing sound insulation and air circulation management. Elsewhere, access was facilitated by the Quadra and Materica flush-to-wall doors, available in both pivot-hinge and swing-door versions. These elements seamlessly connected the various spaces of the Academy, maintaining exceptional functionality and sophisticated design throughout.
