The Biohouse co-working complex, designed by the Israeli studio Open Mind Art Architectures, embodies a concept: to create a shared space where people can collaborate to build, design, and develop ideas.
Conceived as a “pilot project”, it emphasises fluidity, dialogue, and community, serving as a precursor to similar developments planned for Europe and the United States in the coming years. Within this innovative structure, dividing elements such as walls and doors were strategically utilised to craft a variety of environments tailored to the specific needs of its users, from relaxation areas along the central axis of the building to private offices and shared spaces used as biomedical laboratories. Thanks to their “flowing” nature enabling seamless connections between workspaces, optimising light – a crucial element throughout the building – and enhancing acoustic insulation, ADL systems played a key role in the design.
The desired effect was achieved through the use of the cutting-edge Mies continuous glass wall, integrated with the Mitica pivot hinge door, a dynamic opening mechanism that introduces a sense of movement to the space, quickly turning it from public to private. The result is a compelling project that combines exceptional functionality with an elevated user experience.
